  2. “Cloud” computing means using the internet for most of your resources like data and software, rather than having everything on your computer locally. It doesn’t refer to any specific site.

    You can upload your files to a site like Microsoft’s (windows live) Skydrive – it’s easy to set up and they give you a fair amount of space for free (25 GB as of this writing).
    There are also sites with utilities that run in the background on your computer and keep folders of your choice in sync with online copies (e.g. SpiderOak – also uses privacy encryption). Online storage sites usually give you a certain number of gigabytes free (e.g. 2 GB), after that you have to pay if you want more.
