Thanks again for all the great videos on this product! Quick question,
when I go to my USB symbol, I was expecting to see the external drive that
I had attached (via USB) so I can eject it, but it’s not there. Any ideas
on how I can eject the drive?

Hi Lon, Thanks for your excellent video’s. I never knew I would eat through
2TB of Cloud storage but do you know if I can connect a new 4TB My Cloud to
my 2TB My Cloud, it’s to increase storage rather than back up. Would this
work with USB 3.0 connecting both devices? Or would you suggest just
connect a WD My Book as external hard drive? Thank you.

Thanks for your very informative and to the point videos on the MyCloud, I
have one more question, – I have a 4TB MyCloud, and I some how link it to
another 4TB MyCloud so that they run in tandem!!?? I need them for
photograph storage. Thanks.

Congrats for the reviews! Can you advise if you tried the Network UPS
function?

Great series, Lon. Other than for backing up your NAS drives, what are the
most common uses for the USB drives you can plus into the USB slot? I know
you can map these drives, so they can be used for extra “everyday” storage
– but what’s the point if you can’t back up those drives? I’d be more
excited if you could actually mirror these in a RAID array – do you know of
the EX2 or Mirror versions let you do that?

Great review, but I have a question, can you set up a printer using the USB
on the back. Therefore, creating a wireless printer?

I am trying to locate a cable to connect my (My Cloud 4tb to a WD 2tb with
usb 3.0) Both seem to have the same ports used to connect. Can you advise
where you got your cables from and their cable names. thank you

We are having a hard time connecting a new PC to our hub, which then
connects to a wireless range extender and a WD MyCloud separately. All of
the other PC’s seem to function fine, but the new one keeps asking for me
the password on the root WDMyCloud folder and the sub “shares”. We can get
into the root folder, but not into the private shares. Any help would be
great. (Excellent videos, BTW)

Hey Lon not sure if anyone has asked, with the additional drives can I move
data from the additional drives back to the My Cloud drive or is it just
from My Cloud to the additional drives only?

Thanks for all the great videos, quick question, I am trying to connect my
1TB external Segate HD, at the back of my My cloud 3TB USB, however the
Segate drive never appears in the map network drive window (I am using
windows 7), can you please advise if it is supported, I see in your video
you have used a hub with multiple USB sticks but in my case it is a Seagate
external 1 TB HD

So if I wanted to buy a second one and use it as a “fake Raid”…That would
work as well?…Also would another 2TB slow it down a lot? or was yours
slowed down because you had a larger quantity of flash drives plugged in?
Thank’s for the informative videos :)

Hello!
Is there a way to extend the drive space? I mean a way to extend it but
being “invisible” to the user you have another drive plugged in.
Because it’d be a mess to my parents to upload things to another drive
inside a drive. Hehe. Thx

Hi Lon
I have a network (WiFi) connected hp photosmart 5510 printer. The “my
cloud” doesn’t show up on its network display. I’m looking to scan all my
family photos directly to the my cloud public folder is there a way to do
this directly. ?

hi lon, ran into a problem with my newly purchased mycloud and thought I
would check to see If you had posted a video on it and to my delight you
have! – ok so basically ive got the drive all set up everything is working
fine however I have a western digital 4tb my book and a 3tb Samsung drive
which I intended to link with the mycloud via usb hub now for some reason
it connects to the Samsung drive perfectly but when I plug in the western
digital mybook is doesn’t register it? which sounds completely stupid when
you think there both manufactured by WD :s any one able to shed some light
on what im doing wrong?

Hi Lon, I liked all your videos… Im also connecting MyCloud 4TB with a
powered USB Hub my other 2 WD MyBook external Hard Drives (3TB, 4TB), but
for some reason I can only see 1 hard drive, the 4TB, and nothing else. Is
there any setting where I have to specify more than 1 USB or its suppose
that automatically will recognize both ??

Hey Lon, thank you very much for the great videos. There are very
informative and well explained. I have a small question although I might
contact WD for that. Do you know which type of HDD, WD uses for their
clouds?
Might be Red? Or maybe the cheaper Green Version?
Shehzad Abbas November 11, 2014

doesnt work with a WD USB disk, although it does with flash drives. have
