You should be perfectly fine. I’ve got a 3 Mbps plan and in TF2, I get like 1000 ping when some servers automatically kick you for over 250. playing a game is like watching a slideshow.

It is more about lag than speed. The two are not all that related. If the game server is on the other side of the planet, you will lag no matter how much speed you have because the signal just has too far to go. 10 Mbps down and 1 up is plenty.
