Don’t know. I have not used CD’s now for 2 or 3 years.
I use all together DVD’s they are a lot better anyway.
I have a bunch of DVD’s with data stored on them.
I can at anytime open one, edit, delete, add data, or
what ever I wish to do.

Like any other piece of technology, CDs will only begin to disappear when something that can do their job better is easily available (it’s debatable whether this has already happened). They are still are good option for distributing software and media, and probably will be for several years. I wouldn’t expect to see them gone for quite some time.
