  6. Cloud hosting is necessary for sites with non-uniform load, or there is a risk DDoS attacks. I use the services of the company SwissHosters(google it). It located in Switzerland, and can provide high-quality services.

  7. My personally favourite cloud service is OnLive. It’s a cloud based gaming service which allows users with even the weakest and cheapest computers to play video games over the internet on a computer, smartphone or even your tv. You simply buy the games by linking a credit/debit card on your account (they sometimes do nice game deals!) or you can try some of the demos on the games which all can last around 10-30 minutes each.

I’d give this a recommendation as a cloud computing application.

  13. For more advanced users they can built up their own cloud computer to store their files on their online server. The project is based on PHP and a SQLite, MySQL or PostgreSQL database. The ownCloud requires computer with mirroring raid (optional but is usefull) and port 80 enabled. I tested in IIS 7 and IIS 7.5. The owncloud comes also with a sync client for many OSs.
