  5. I guess the first step is extensive and versatile knowledge of computers to become a successful hacker,

  6. you must learn many coding skills b4 you can actually hack someones computer. such as programming, code writing for web pages

  7. There is a such thing as ethical/white hack hacking, and people with this ability are in high demand in all sectors, even government. Check out the different conventions, like Defcon and Blackhat. Look at their archives, learn as much as you can. Get some old books on Amazon.com, used books like the “Maximum Security” series can be picked up for like $ 5 now. Look into “history of hacking”, and search for info on how to hack everything “Hacking windows, hacking linux, hacking iphone” everything.. you won’t have a life besides computers and studying. some certifications are pretty good. .you need a good understanding of networking before you can get into network security, and before networking you should understand how computers work etc. start with A+, then Network+, then Security+, Server+, then check out Cisco, Juniper, and CISSP certification. you’ll never stop learning.. Also learn a programming language. Java, Perl, UNIX shell languages like csh, ksh, bsh. You should also get rid of Windows and run Linux. Download Ubuntu and dual boot it. when you feel comfortable enough, only run Linux and learn all the commands you can. If you really want to learn, everything is there. Good luck.

  8. Try some other site besides yahoo.

  9. qna1 is right, but i have something to add to that:

    * A hacker is a person intensely interested in the arcane and recondite workings of any computer operating system. Hackers are most often programmers. As such, hackers obtain advanced knowledge of operating systems and programming languages. They might discover holes within systems and the reasons for such holes. Hackers constantly seek further knowledge, freely share what they have discovered, and never intentionally damage data.

    * A cracker is one who breaks into or otherwise violates the system integrity of remote machines with malicious intent. Having gained unauthorized access, crackers destroy vital data, deny legitimate users service, or cause problems for their targets. Crackers can easily be identified because their actions are malicious.

Crackers give us hackers a bad name, and pisses us off to no end. Crackers are the ones that get sent to jail, not hackers.
