I use webroot, and it works good. If you go and search something on google or something like that it will tell you if it is a safe site.

Try these..
Get http://www.malwarebytes.org/ < ---- Free anti-malware which knocks out malware. If you have the boughten version then you will get, website blocking, automatic scans/updates when you want to, active protection, one lifetime low fee etc. Free version you have to do everything manually and you wont get some of the extra features.
Microsoft Security Essentials Anti-virus/Spyware & Malware. I never had a problem ever since I had these two programs on my computer. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.

AVG. Free. Does the job. Trustworthy.

It is only my opinion, but paid for progs are generally much better.
AVG is free, but kaspersky gives really good protection, guaranteed.
Always remember how much it costs to repair the computer, against
the cost of the software to protect it.
you can re-register on avast’s site for another 4 years for the free version. If you’re looking for a great antivirus that comes free though, I advise using Microsoft Security Essentials – a great piece of software to have provided that your copy of Windows is genuine.

AVAST can be renewed by the year for free
It is a very good antivirus
it has rootkit protection
it has boot scan
a good I tried before is ZenOK Free Antivirus, in my opinion this is the best AV software I0ve used. very fast and does not slow my pc down which is the problem I used to have with others one I had :S
Note: If you use more than one secondary antivirus program, make sure you’re only running one at a time. If these programs ever ask you if you would like to turn on active protection, as many of them will do, click “No.”
