Unfortunately, the nuclear threat is just as real now as it was when this movie was made. The only difference is that it is no longer the USSR (which no longer exists), but another potential enemy that can be just as deadly or even more so.

Race is literally bone deep. A scientist can look at a skeleton that has been dead for 1,000 years and tell you what race it is. Actually, just from the skull. Humans are the 2nd most varied mammal species on earth, next to dogs.
So, yes, all dogs are dogs, but we all know there is a difference among Labs and pitbulls and chihuahuas. I could say “breed” is just a “social construct”, but it refers to something quite real.
The same is true with regard to race among human beings.
