Rule #1, If you do a video show what you’re talking about. Don’t show a
still picture of a NAS and talk the whole time. If you’re talking about
configuring it show the config screen. If you’re talking about web access
show how you copy files to it.

Lots of problems with this review. Production values: these are supposed to
be “moving pictures” you know — but this video is basically a still photo
of a corner of the device. You could show us taking it out of the box, you
could show configuring it, you could demonstrate it is accessible from an
android phone — none of that. You cite a bunch of #s but you could be
reading them from the press release for all we can tell. Did you test
anything at all?

What brand hard drives are installed in it? I can’t seem to find any info
on that on the Buffalo site.

massive upgrade?

“pretty damn cool” anyway mate. Just a note, I suspect that devices like
this one (and there are many brands out there, all touting similar
functionality and apps) are going to account for a rapidly growing piece of
storage demand. While you do a yeoman’s job of an intro to Buffalo’s entry,
I would recommend that potential users search for full, printable,
evaluations before taking the plunge. By the way mate, the N-A-S acronym
stands for Network Attached Storage & u can just say “NAZ” Cheers

Thanks for making this video! 🙂 Could you possibly suggest a personal
cloud device like the Buffalo LinkStation that does NOT need a wi-fi
router? Does this one require a router like many of the rest of the NAS
devices? I have an “egg” that creates a wi-fi hotspot using my phones data
plan, and so I haven’t used a wi-fi router in two years (I live in Korea).
Any suggestions? I want exactly what your video suggest…but without a
wif-fi router. Thanks for your help!
