I’ve just been having a gander at the Xbox Live and PS+ memberships in GBP
for 1 year Xbox live it’s £39.99 and for 1 year PS+ it’s £39.99. So over here the membership fee’s for a year bundle are exactly the same. But this might change on PS4 release.

If you think the PS+ subscription is like XBox Live, you’re either delusional or a blatant liar. Everything isn’t behind a paywall which is why the PS3 is the number one device for watching Netflix.
SONY may reverse that as well once they see they aren’t getting as many subscriptions as they anticipated.

Ok. I clearly misconstrued your position. Yeah, it is disappointing and I’m waiting to see when they launch what actually will be the perks and policies. I personally don’t think they had to do that because so many playstation owners with internet connection were getting PS+ subscriptions on their own. Making it a mandate is such a turnoff.

I went to the website and XBox Live is $60 a year (last time I checked, anyway). Not only that, but PS+ is NOT $5 a month. That is a lie. It is $50 a year, or $18 for 3 months. You do not have the option to purchase on a month to month basis at $5. Why American marketing entities sell that lie and don’t get sued for false advertising is beyond me.

That’s understandable. However, Sony cannot keep the service free, even if they wanted to now. They’ve invested too many features and services into the PS4, which is logically want people would want. They’re going to attract more gamers by implementing features like that, while keeping it affordable at $5 a month. Xbox Live is $9.99 a month I believe.

Or maybe a Tier membership system that would be even better. because right now, the only reason i would want a ps4 is so I can play two games that are exclusive one that requires to play online, but I know about games like Guild Wars… which is you buy once and no pay-to-play business model. the other games I would get are coming out for ps3. So, yeah….
