Check out trakAxPC Pro. It’s a new editing suite that allows you to edit and mix any combination of audio, video and photos. You can do effects, text, split screen, reverse, slow-motion etc, plus upload your video directly to YouTube through the application. There’s a free and paid version available.

If your looking for special effects such as light sabers, lasers, running on roof tops then you will need Adobe After Effects very good program that can produce some genuine looking film effects however does take some learning. http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects
