Hi, here are some basic pieces of information that may assist in the finding or removing of your rootkit or keylogger. My information is at the bottom of this post if you need to further contact me.
This may seem like a lot, but please do these and post the results by pressing Edit> Add Details on your Yahoo Answers Question. Alternatively, IM me with the results.
You may want to print this out in case you lose access to the internet.
Note that the virus may have broken your Internet browsers. In this case, try to use a lesser-used one such as Safari/Opera, or a newer one such as Chrome. Alternatively, download all required files on a non-broken computer and transfer them via USB.
I’d like you to run a few tests on your computer. You may need to run these in Safe Mode (with networking) if the virus is preventing them from running.
First, download SuperAntiSpyware FREE edition from here: http://www.superantispyware.com/?rid=3324 < <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
When prompted, hit Save File, and use the default settings for installation.
If it will not start, open your start menu > programs > SUPERAntiSpyware and click on Alternate Start.
Click on the “Check for Updates” button, and allow them to install.
On the main menu, click “Preferences”
Uncheck “Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows Starts”
Next, click “Scanning Control”. Make sure the following are checked, and leave all the others unchecked.
“Close Browsers before scanning”
“Scan for tracking cookies”
Proceed to do a scan.
If the scan fails, go back to the Scanning Control tab of Preferences and select “Terminate Memory Threats before Quarantining”. DO NOT SCAN YET.
Reboot your computer in safe mode by restarting your computer. After hearing your computer beep once during start up (but BEFORE the Windows icon appears), press the F8 key repeatedly. Use the arrow keys to select “Run Windows in Safe Mode”.
Now that your computer is up, launch SUPERAntiSpyware and do a scan on your C: drive. When the scan is done, make sure all the items are checked and click “Next”. Restart your computer when the items are done being removed.
To retrieve the removal information, go to Preferences, then click Statistics/Logs. Under Scanner logs, double click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log. Press View Log, and copy and paste the results into the edit box.
When you save the file, rename it to something random (such as wrjqwgfdjgt.exe). This is because many viruses will attempt to kill Malwarebytes on launch. While connected to the internet, install Malwarebytes with all default settings.
Do a scan- either full or quick, it’s up to you. A full scan will take 1-5 hours, while a quick scan shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. When the scan is done, make sure EVERYTHING is checked, and click “Remove Selected”.
Copy and paste the Log report into the Add Details section of this question.
The file will be randomly named. Before opening, make sure all other programs are closed, and you are disconnected from the internet. Also, disable any other Antiviruses. Allow Gmer to install.
If this program fails to run or results in Blue Screens of Death, uncheck Devices on the right side of the program prior to a scan.
If you recieve a WARNING about rootkits, DO NOT do a full system scan. Click Scan, and click OK if it asks you ro temove a rootkit. Otherwise, DO NOT REMOVE ANY FILES THAT SHOW UP. Click the Save button, and save the file. Enable any antivirus programs you disabled, and reconnect to the internet.
Copy and paste the results into the Add/Edit details section.
