  1. AVG is good. Apparently Comodo isn’t that great I’ve heard. Either way, NEVER have more than one anti-virus installed at one time.

I’ve heard Avast! is complete garbage. Try looking here for reviews: http://www.av-comparatives.org.

Microsoft Security Essentials (OneCare’s free replacement) is good too. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Microsoft-Security-Essentials.shtml

Of course, AVG (paid) is better than the free version.

Panda’s “Cloud Antivirus” is free and lightweight — good for older computers.

It’s really Personal Preference. I think Avira is pretty good too if I remember correctly.

  2. AVG is no GOOD. I would suggest Avast the best in the House. yes free. Works for me. look in the link http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

  3. I had a computer person tell me the exact opposite. He said that it’s Norton and Macaphee that keeps in him in busness by causing computers to run slow and corupting needed downloads.

It all depends on who you want to believe. I saw my guy’s laptop, and it had AVG on it. The paid version, not the free kind.

  4. AVG is no GOOD. I would suggest Avast the best in the House. yes free.
