note to people who think they can play as snsd characters. no you cant unless you are an korean citizen or have a korean friend who allow you to use their kssn. snsd will only be in the korean version which is only for koreans. freestyle is an online basketball game that has other versions but you wont be playng the version with snsd unless you are korean

I would get the Eclipse environment (http://www.eclipse.org) and the CDT plug-in environment to write C and C++. It’s an awesome free tool.

I would buy books on it. My dad brought my a book written by Ian Lloyd on HTML and it has done wonders for me with no degree and being 15. He has written other books on more than HTML too. You can write C++ in Visual Basic 6. How hard is it to get a degree in computer science? That’s what major I was going to do and my dad has been helping me. He’s a programmer and security manager and a lot of other stuff beyond human comprehension lol.

Probably you should like go to Borders and buy a book on C++… they usually come with a cd to with like a compiler.

If you have programming experience, I would say try linux. No this is not quite as crazy as it sounds. There is a live CD called Knoppix, which was intended originally for computer diagnostics and for regular desktop stuff. You put it in your computer, boot from the CD Rom drive (or DVD if you have the DVD version) and you will be on a KDE desktop with access on the command line to GCC, G++, MAKE which is useful for all kinds of stuff, GDB which is a debugger for use with GCC and GPROF which is an optimizer for it. You can’t run this stuff on Windows but you can mount the hard drive, write the source files to it and save your work that way (just remember to unmount it before you reboot). When you finish, reboot or shut down, Knoppix will eject the CD and when you reboot you will be in Windows. More information at:
You can download a free iso from there you can burn it to disk if you have a cdburner. This page tells you how to burn an Ubuntu CD but I’m not advocating using Ubuntu because Ubuntu doesn’t natively come with these programs: you can still use exactly the same procedure to burn a knoppix disk.
Once you boot up open a terminal and type “info” for the GNU project’s documentation on the programs I listed above, or “man for other information.
There are all kinds of books, and I strongly recommend at least one. Deitel and Deitel’s C++ how to program is geared towards Visual C but even if you take my advice on the compiler it is a good book for the basics: I learned C from the C version in College and my sister was using an earlier version of C++ How To Program at the end of her career with Pratt and Whitney. C++ for game programming? I think that would be pretty difficult but since you are experienced programmer, i guess you can settle it without much works. However, if you need help with your other programming activities. You can ask help with these company, there are lots of great programmers in their company.
