That’s because this was an informative video to let people know there are free games on steam, not a lets play. If I was going to play it I would have named the video “Lets play Alien Swarm” or something to that effect.

Try running Just Cause 2 in compatibility mode. Find it’s .exe launcher file right click it, go to properties and click the compatibility tab, set it to windows xp service pack 3, then try launching it. If it’s compatibility issue then that should fix it for you.

Steams ok better than Origin, only game that did not work for me was Just Cause 2, I still got XP and its a Win7 games only. Should of checked the box but did not have a microscope to read the small print. Brought the whole Spell Force collection oh my that was a balls up as I thought it was a dungeon crawler and it turned out to be a hybrid rts/wargame. Readings not my strong point.

The difference is like night and day. I purchased the hard copy and have was playing it within two minutes. Bottom line is thier down loaded Spell Force game did not work. They keep selling garbage and VISA , and other major card companies will stop doing business with them. I did get Visa to reverse the transaction.Bash a company who would sell you a bad product and never respond with an E-mail. I’ll be the one of the many who do something about it! Get the idea Steam.Customer service first!

Not to hijack this conversation or anything, but if you read their policy, it clearly states that all sales are final and that you should read the System Requirements of the game before purchasing it. Steam is simply a nexus for pc games, you will not notice a difference between a hard-bought copy and a digital one. If it didn’t work on Steam, it won’t work with a regular copy either. I’m sorry if you’ve had a bad experience with steam, but don’t bash it because you had a mishap with the game.

right click on the game press pause download, and then right click on the game again and press resume download, if steam still says the download isn’t finished then the game is more than likely downloaded, press play to find out.

I ended up getting a refund from visa, then I went through the system and deleted everything from steam/ spellforce download. I’ve gotten a couple of emails from steam but there so out dated and of no help. I’m finished with steam. I ordered a spellforce game from ebay, a hard copy. It will be here monday.

your right its happening to me now when it reached the last 1mb it stopped downloading , even the free games sometimes like war inc it also never continue downloading with me

You may try to change the channel of the network. Also try to reduce the interference in the same frequency band. You can try to change the router position and see if it makes any difference. By using this information, you can find the best position to place your Wireless Router and your desktop table that will suite everybody in your house.
