You must sign up for Amazon EC2 before you can use the Amazon EC2 Console.
It’s quick and free to sign up.

becareful because if you make a mistake, click on the wrong icon, you’ll be
charged without notice, and all is made to complicate things….and charge
you

Hello there, do you know if AWS accepts a prepaid credit card number?
Are those sites that offer a free VPS reliable ?
They require a true cell phone number and i don’t like that. 🙂
Cheers

when i click on EC2 ..i get this message ”
Thank you for signing up for Amazon EC2. Your subscription is being
processed.
We will send you an email when you can begin using this service. For most
customers this takes only a few minutes, but if additional account
verification is required, then processing can take several hours.
Until your subscription is ready, you can learn more about the AWS
Management Console.
i am waiting for long time

Hi Shaun,Once again thank you for your great information helping me to run
my MetaTrader4 in Amazon AWS Free VPS.I want to ask I have 1 instance
currently running in.Is it possible to have or add 3 or 4 Meta Trader with
different brokers in 1 Instance only? are they running live trading all of
them?
alemazzuca September 29, 2014
hi, is the server stable? what is your overall opinion?
MrScratcher99 September 29, 2014
Found the problem thanks Shaun. Recently had new EA designed, its riddled
with bugs; was testing at the weekend ,but not live. Its also maxing out 2
other computers. I have now tried the VPS with stable EA’s, and i must say
it works a treat. And considering that i can run as many as i want, FOR
FREE!!, how can anyone complain about that??? Great find. Though I do worry
about what Amazon will do when legions of amateur fx traders start hogging
its servers…

Many Thank Mr.Shaun I will follow your instruction
Abel Tolorio September 29, 2014
Thanks again Shaun.I will try it.
Shaun Overton September 29, 2014
Hi Abel, I’m glad that you got it working. You need to find Windows Remote
Desktop on your other computer. Open it up and then go through the same
process to access your VPS.
Shaun Overton September 29, 2014
The billing is by hours, not instances. I’m making the assumption that as
long as you keep the total hours under 150 (5 instances * 25 hours or 1
instance * 150 hours, etc), you qualify for the promotion.

Nice one Shaun, NICE ONE!!!
Shaun Overton September 29, 2014
Did you run the micro tier or something more powerful?
Marek Augustin September 29, 2014
And I`ve checked the report and it seems they charge me just 3 days in
august it seems strange invoice for July and in details of invoice is
august trafic hmhmhm not clear yet. If this service from Amazon is free its
good value otherwise I would`t pay for that connection and speed some
money. You made great job however. Appreciate
Shaun Overton September 29, 2014
Great feedback. I’m sure a lot of people will benefit from your experience.
I never intended this for testing. I just run my live EAs on it. I never
use it for testing. You’re better off using spot instances with set hourly
rates and performance metrics if you plan to test strategies. We use AWS
whenever we need major horsepower for training neural networks.
Shaun Overton September 29, 2014
Please let me know how it works out.

This is free for only a year, and is very slow, so is this really very
useful info?. Free for a year isn’t free. To slow to use isn’t useful right?

Shaun, this is gold! Thank you so much for sharing.

I followed your instructions (probably saved me a few hours). It works
great. After I set up the VPS, I went back to my local computer and
downloaded a MT4 setup program from my broker. Then copied it from my
computer and pasted it to the new VPS desktop. Double clicked the MT4 setup
program on the VPS and it installed effortlessly. Then I copied various EAs
and Indicators from my local computer to the MT4 directories on the VPS.
The first trade just closed and it was profitable. – thanks!
MrScratcher99 September 29, 2014
I see. So what you are saying is that if i had two instances running at the
same time for 24 hours, that would equate to 48 hours? I put a test on last
night over 10 years of data, got up this morning and it had only done 9
months! So i was thinking about spreading the test out over 5 instances.
But if that means that i will be cut off in the middle of the month, i
don’t think i will bother. Also, do you shut them down when not in use to
save hours? (sorry for pestering you man)
