Often the pirated version has “extra” features, that you really do not want. Backdoors, keyloggers and worse. Those keys also may be blacklisted disabling the antivirus and possibly locking up your computer. A better choice if you do not want to pay for a anti-virus would be to go with a free or ad-paid version. Avira and Avast are two such programs.
Both in my experience do just as good a job as the paid ones. A side advantage with these programs is they do not slow down your computer as much as the big name programs.

If its a valid licence key, it WORKS.
If you’re using piratebay, make sure the member is either a VIP or Trusted, also check the comments just to make sure that there isnt something ‘extra’ waiting for you when you run that exe.
There is no difference, other than that.
Be careful though, you might be being tracked by the feds 😉

Using a pirated security program is a very stupid thing to do!
Why would anyone risk their internet safety & financial safety to a stolen pirated program? As Todd & Marco mentioned, there’s serious risks with any cracked program. Especially when there are excellent ones available for free from the makers of the programs. Avast & Avira consistently score at or near the top when compared to all anti-viruses, free & paid!
pirated works until its key is not black listed, more than that you might loose all the things and your p.c might start behaving erratic and fully in operative with some pirated things as the original company are trying to shoot your p.c when you tend to update their product.some pirated things become useless when the license becomes invalid.some pirated things brings all the owes to your computer like Trojans and dangerous viruses. you could try if you are prepared to have an experience.finally you may also be caught and charged with murder for stealing the product in a criminal way. the safest is to purchase, and it is also good if you could manage all the things on the bad side , if you download from pirated site, if you are prepared to invite trouble.
