  1. CloudMan lives!

  2. Depends are you a reader or gamer . Even though the iPad has a good selection of books. It doesn’t compare to the kindle . But I would go with the iPad its amazing it has games , books movies music . You name it has it . It’s basically a flat computer.

  3. Or, how about a real book? They’re far superior to an eReader, and far cheaper.

  4. you should get ipad2 its so cool you can even call people on it

  5. Hi, Brayden, of course iPad2 is a much better device but it also is heavier and much more expensive. Nook Color (or rumored to be released soon Nook Color 2) from Barnes & Noble and Kindle Fire are less functional but also lighter and cheaper devices. Limitations of Kindle Fire are known to be as following:
    1. Kindle Fire doesn’t have microSD slot that, for example, Nook Color has thus it is stuck with 6 GB usable internal storage unlike Nook Color that can get up to 32 GB card in. Kindles are made to be almost like a “dumb terminal” of the past to make sure you’re tied up to Amazon’s storage on the web (for which you need Wi-Fi connection to get to) and you can only store content you get from Amazon there, not other files. Quoting Amazon on Kindle Fire: “Free cloud storage for all Amazon content”. Get it, Amazon content?
    2. The stats of how long the battery can last (Kindle Fire theory is 7.5 hours) are taken with Wi-Fi off. It will last only about 3 hours if you use it to access content from their Cloud storage over Wi-Fi.
    3. Amazon can spy on your web activity through their new cloud-integrated web browser of Kindle Fire.
    4. VERY IMPORTANT – lack of microSD slot means that if you decide to root your Kindle Fire, you’ll have to root the actual device thus there will be no coming back. On Nook Color, you can make it boot from a “rooted” microSD card and if you want to get back to the original Nook you can just take out the card and reboot.
    5. Kindle Fire doesn’t have a camera.
    6. Kindle Fire has about 70% less usable screen area than iPad 2.
    7. Kindle doesn’t support eBooks in ePub format that is the most used format in the world.
    8. Kindle app store contains only Amazon approved apps and it does not include (and will not include) Netflix app that iPad has and Nook Color is getting thus again you’re stuck with Amazon content only.
    9. Amazon confirmed that you cannot download anything to Kindle Fire when traveling abroad.
    10. Amazon says it will review every app in its Appstore for Fire compatibility, as part of an automated process. Rejected apps will include those that rely on a gyroscope, camera, WAN module, Bluetooth, microphone, GPS, or micro SD. Apps are also forbidden from using Google’s Mobile Services (and in-app billing), which, if included, will have to be “gracefully” removed. In terms of actual content, Amazon has outlawed all apps that change the tablet’s UI in any way (including theme- or wallpaper-based tools), as well as any that demand root access (it remains to be seen how the company will treat the root-dependent apps already in its store).
    11. I’d recommend waiting for Nook Color 2 that is rumored to be released by Barnes & Noble shortly.

  6. Personally I think the fire is way better than the ipad, for less money.
The silk browser is super fast, and can support flash (which the ipad can’t do) so it can support youtube and other rich media sites etc.
It can play movies, music and load ebooks (with access to the amazons growing catalogue of media).
It’s just wifi, so you have to be in a wifi hotspot to use the web.
There is no memory expansion, but that really doesn’t matter because it connects to the amazon cloud where you can stream music and video right from the cloud.
It can run thousands of android apps, such as office suites or games.

You can get a good deal on the kindle fire here:

Anyways I would totally go for it – I truly think it’s an ipad killer.
Your getting more functionality for a fraction of the price.

  7. The Kindle Fire is better for reading books and cheaper.
On the other hand the iPad 2 has dozens of apps, you can play games, and it can be 3d, but it’s pretty expensive. If you can afford an i-Pad i suggest you give it a shot and buy one. None of my friends that have one complain about the money they’ve paid to get them. Sure, you can always try to get an i-pad for free from sites such as http://www.freeipad2tablet.info

  8. The iPad is still the best tablet pc but at what cost? If you have the money, and just want the best at any price – go for the iPad.

If you can do without a camera, already have a cell phone, and don’t care too much about browsing through nearly half a million apps, and you want a great tablet pc that costs less than the least expensive iPod Touch, then look closely at the Kindle Fire.

I am somewhat biased toward the Kindle Fire. I think Apple products are over-priced. $ 199 for the Fire is a great deal. I doubt the fire will outsell the iPad, but it will absolutely put a dent in Apple’s iPad sales this year. The Fire will still have 1000’s of apps and games, and the selection of books and movies will rival Apple’s library.

  9. Apple iPad 2 MC775LL/A Tablet. The iPad is not a laptop and is not principally a production computer, that is, a computer on which you are going to develop web pages, do serious graphics editing, or write a book. The iPad 2 is absurdly thin. More importantly than it’s thinness is its tapered edge which feels more natural in your hand. One of the biggest complaints about the original iPad was it really wasn’t tremendously comfortable to hold for long periods at a time
