There are several storage sites, like Microsoft Skydrive or Google Drive. that offer a limited free storage, or paid higher storage.

There are many options (as mentioned by the other answerers) but I think Dropbox is the best. It free and you get around 2GB of storage (which should be enough). The reason I’d recommend Dropbox over other services is because you can install the Dropbox application on your computer which’ll create a folder named “Dropbox”. This folder acts just like a normal folder, but when file’s are edited and you have an internet connection, it’ll update those files to the cloud storage. Also, whatever you upload is private (only you can access it) by default. Good luck with your major. Hopefully your laptop won’t die again!
P.S. If 2GB isn’t enoguh, then there are a few ways to increase your storage. You can either do certain things (share on twitter and facebook, invite friends and get them to install it etc.) which’ll give you a couple hundred megabytes or you can get a pro plan for $ 10+ a month which’ll give you at least 100GB of space depending on your plan.
