The latest version of JayCut (2.2) features a fantastic new drawing/annotation tool which can allow you to create your very own sports commentary highlights video amongst others. Tie this with the ability to create slow motion effects, add a background via green screen chroma keying, record your own voice overs and you have a very powerful editing suite that even some desktop software would be envious of.

  2. I’m not sure what you mean by “online”, but…

Windows Movie Maker is actually pretty good for editing videos. It’s certainly not a professional-level video editor, but it has plenty of features and is easy for even someone with no experience to use.The version for Vista and Windows 7, Windows Live Movie Maker, is slightlybetter, but it won’t work on XP. I’m a Linux guy, but Movie Maker is one of the few programs that I’ll boot up Windows to use. It’s not nearly as good as iMovie for Macs, but it’s nice. My biggest complaint about Movie Maker is that it is limited in the formats it can create. There’s no problem with input formats, since I’m pretty sure it uses external codecs, so installing a codec pack like CCCP allows it to use pretty much anything you can throw at it. But it can only output wmv files.

Another option is Avidemux. It can output pretty much any kind of video format you want, and it’s self-contained so you don’t have to worry about installing external codecs. The two major problems with Avidemux are that it doesn’t have a drag-and-drop interface for working with multiple clips, and it doesn’t (to my knowledge) provide the ability to apply any sort of transitions between clips.

So assuming you don’t a have access to a Mac and therefore iMovie, I would suggest using Movie Maker to edit the videos, then Avidemux to convert them to the format you want.

I’d like to recommend HD video editor to you, I always use it to edit video and make funny video for uploading to Youtube, it’s easy to use and the quality is awesome, you can crop, cut, join, edit video with it easily. It also embeds many special effects, you can even add text to video or add background music, that’s pretty cool. It worth a try. Here is the free download link.
