  1. I’m not sure about these two but I have a Kobo Vox and it does everything you just mentioned by downloading the proper apps. I’m telling you this because my friend has a Nook & now wants to get a Kobo Vox …the only thing about Kobo is you can’t download from google play but can do everything else Google play used to be Market Place app store but it didn’t make that much of a difference because you can get apps from everyone else like Good E-Reader App Store which has all the apps to do everything you’ve mentioned its $ 199 which isn’t a bad price…I know this didn’t answer your question but I think its worth checking out also they have a 1 800 number you can call for help when your trying to figure something out which I’ve used twice ….good luck on your choices.

  2. You can do all the things you mentioned with both tablets. You can also watch movies, play games, use tons of android apps, read magazines, books, etc.

The internet browser on both tablets support flash so there is no difference there.

Here I found an excellent comparison that should help you out on this decision:

The benefits of getting Kindle fire over Nook tablet:

    – Amazon prime: Get one book free every month, free 2 day shipping and video streaming,
    – Free cloud storage,
    – Nice customized UI.
    – More content and better prices
    – Own multimedia content. You do not have to go for netflix or pandora. Kindle fire has the amazon library full of movies and tv shows.
