  6. I tell people if they are going to be using amazon to buy their content, their music, their movies and books and add them through there you should stick with the fire, the nook doesn’t have movies for sale and you can’t buy music from the B&N online store for your nook tablet.

If you are going to be adding most of your movies or music from your personal computer and don’t care too much about buying it from a major online store then the nook tablet is better because it comes with more memory and you can expand the memory with an sd card.

So Fire if you plan on buying your stuff from amazon like music and movies and books, Nook if you have music and movies on your computer and just want to move the stuff over and buy only books and magazines from the online store.

As for the online stuff and speed they both match up pretty well. You can see some speed tests online between the two and yeah maybe one second difference between the two, but you won’t notice it when your using it in your everyday.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  7. hey, Ryan, consider how do you access Cloud on Wi-Fi-only Kindle Fire when traveling and when no Wi-Fi is available? Cloud is a big myth, you can only count on your device for content storage. Kindle Fire only has 6 GB to use after space is taken by Android OS and it doesn’t have any expandable card slot while Nook Tablet (which is Nook Color 2) has 16 GB space and a microSD slot for up to 32 GB more. Nook also has unlimited free cloud as all your eBooks and apps you got from Nook store are stored online as well as on your device. It is confirmed that Prime movies can’t be downloaded, only streamed, making them impossible to watch without Wi-Fi on Kindle Fire. Double the RAM of Nook Tablet definitely has a lot of performance impact on how quickly apps load and how quick the device is overall. Everyone who actually held Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet in their hands noted that Nook’s screen is much better and brighter besides being laminated for reduced glare (not on Kindle or iPad). Amazon prime is worthless – 13,000 movies and 10,000 books are included while Netflix has millions of movies and B&N ebook store has millions of books (and over 2 million free ones). Also it’s worth mentioning that if you walk in with any Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you’ll get tech support and you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. It is confirmed at this time that many Kindle Fire units have faulty Wi-Fi and people have a lot of issues connecting to internet according to many user reviews. Other issues are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is a myth where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, etc.
Recently released Nook Tablet has been getting rave reviews and it is the best device in it’s class – much better than Kindle Fire. It’s got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life, the best screen, double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies, microSD slot, a microphone for Skype, and physical volume controls on the side (neither of those is on Kindle Fire), very smooth video playback with excellent screen, and very fast apps load.
