1) what are the differences between the pro and the regular version of docs
to go? and
2) can the power point app play animated icons and embedded videos which I
had on my previously prepared power point presentations?
AppleTechSpot March 7, 2014
Yeah, that is a good video suggestion. Although, taking everything that
goes into it, the video would be really long or have to be split in
multiple parts. I don’t want to spend to much time aside from Apple, on
this channel.
AppleTechSpot March 7, 2014
Thanks jgaming! Appreciate it. Yeah, those are great alternatives, as well.
Although, they do take up a ton of space, compared to Docs To Go, which is
my only complaint.

Cloudon is a free app that works great but it doesn’t work on the iPod
touch 4 since it crashes. I use it on my iPad Mini and it’s great! It uses
Skydrive, Googledrive, or box to get your files and edit them on it .

Avast free antivirus. also MalwareBytes (this doesn’t provide realtime protection but it can scan and fix problems for you)
Spybot. It is the BEST. I used it recently because my computer was totally infected, and it got rid of all trojans, marware, spyware, etc. I can’t even say enough good things about this product.
And it is completely free and legal. Enjoy!!
(BTW – everybody says good things about Avast, but I couldn’t find one that would even download properly to my computer)
Wendy March 8, 2014
Use and ONE of these.. They are Fully FREE and work really great….
I also recommend Malwarebytes for the occasional scan. This is not real time protection, only on demand. This is a great addition to any of the above AV programs I listed above.
Microsoft Security Essentials is free and legit. Some say it works fairly well. I tried it but did not like it as it seemed to be a resource hog. https://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
For tracking cookies and such I use Firefox browser with the NoScript, AdBlock Plus, HTTPS Everywhere, and BetterPrivacy extensions. I also delete browsing history, cookies, etc. upon exiting the browser session.
Avast has some definition problems. It doesn’t recognize certain viruses. AVG has very bad Trojan detection because it is afraid of harming your computer and doesn’t like to delete legitimate-looking files, and it has many advertisements. AntiVir has a fake version that is considered a Rogue and is very damaging to your computer. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is one of the top-rated, and has a relatively fast scan, and I used to use it a lot. It found several malware programs I never knew I had. SuperAntiSpyware finds more viruses than Malwarebytes, but has a slow scanning time. It took 14 hours to scan my computer once upgrading to Windows 7 -_-
I would recommend SuperAntiSpyware if you don’t have Windows 7, for the scan on other operating systems only takes about 2 hours. Take malwarebytes if you have Windows 7.
I use none of those now, I purchased Webroot AV with Spy Sweeper and downloaded Advanced System Care, a free tuneup program.
Use Avira Personal AntiVirus http://www.free-av.com/
I Highly recommend dont use AVG. Avast is much better than AVG.
If you want to use Microsoft Security Essentials then there is no need for an AntiVirus.
Trish March 8, 2014
I prefer AVG free, it has antivirus, antispyware, link scanner, (puts a green tick next to good sites in search engine results) email scanner, anti rootkit.
I`ve used it for years with no problems.
I also have malwarebytes free version, it doesn`t protect in real time, but brilliant for an occasional scan for malware.
FiddleSticks March 8, 2014
I suggest AVAST and Microsoft Security Essentials. I use MSE because it fully free and it might take 3 hours for a full scan, but it never let me down. It cleared out 3 worms, 7 viruses and 9 trojans off my old computers and I have it now on my new one. Its easy to use and you get used to it very easy. I have tons of stuff on my computer, so it takes a while. I also recommend CCleaner, cleans out all the crap from your computer. When you run it the first time, it’ll take a while, but then do it when you turn on your computer and when you turn it off so if you forget one day, it wont take hours to clean. I don’t use AVAST but my brother does, so I have a little bit of experience with it.
rational.anarchist March 8, 2014
You could try Avast, Avira, AVG, PC Tools, Immunet Protect, which I have tried from all available from http://download.cnet.com/. I finally settled on AVG, because it fit my needs best, but all of them were OK. They are all realtime softeware blockers, primarily, but you could try Comodo or Zone Alarm for a free firewall, or AdAware fore a adware removal tool. Pick out your own combination of tools to make your own suilte. What you are paying for with a suite is someone selecting the tools for you. If you pick and choose, you can assemble a set that makes up all your favorites and doesn’t cost a cent!
