  7. Yes, because online radio is unregulated by the FCC.

  8. It’s not illegal to make a broadcast station (small ones on FM wave) on the internet. What you do have to watch out for is using music or other info you are putting on the station. You have to be licensed for some of that. Get over a certain size/area and the FCC will have to be involved.

    The FCC may have a little less power over what happens on the internet, but the RIAA sure as hell doesn’t. Broadcasting music over the internet is compared to redistributing (streaming media) – without a proper license for the music you broadcast, you can get yourself in some serious trouble – 6 or 7 digit before the decimal trouble, that is.
