Thanks for this intro. OneNote has been under my radar because it did not
appear that Microsoft has actively marketed this application. They seem to
“throw it in” to Office as an afterthought. Hence, I just thought OneNote
was a caffeine version of Notepad.
But wow! This looks like a must for organized people, or those that are
unorganized, but trying to get organized.
Personal favorites:
– It eliminates the “structure” necessary to create a Word document during
the creative-anything-goes phase of any project.Yet the second you desire
some structure, you can click “Rule Lines” on the View tab, and…wa-la!
you are typing on ruled “paper” in a carriage return format.
– The drawing mechanisms allow you sketch out boxes and connectors for flow
charts like Excel, or thinking through table relationships for Access, all
in the same folder, or even page.
– The ability to quickly e-mail an individual page inside a folder/project,
which eliminates the need to break down documents for different people in
the organization.
– Easily create, edit, or rearrange project checklists on the fly.
-The ability to easily store a website link that I know I will want to look
at later…sort of like “stash” in Opera Browser. The best part is that
the link is right there within the context of whatever topic, or project,
made me look for it in the first place.
As a project person I am embarrassed that I only recently investigated
OneNote. Thanks again.

Hi Greg, thanks for a great presentation. I’ve been using Microsoft Office
for years but didn’t know ab out OneNote. I’ve got a few applications in
mind one being an ancestry document to share with family all around the US.
I’ll subscribe to see whatever else you’re helping out with. Thanks, Lois

Thank you for this inspiring video. Now I have a new tool to use. I have
so many papers that I have to have & each one is different for the
different doctors that I go to that I carry a 3″ notebook full of printed
out information. I told myself there has to be an easier way? I got to
looking at my laptop & noticed this software. My husband didn’t know much
about it so I came here & found you. Now I am going to try & set up me a
notebook with serious sections for the doctors. Then save it all as a PDF
file on my table (which a lot lighter than the 3″ binder!). Thanks again!

I usually dislike Microsoft products. I cannot believe how wonderful this
program is. Thank you for a well done tutorial video. It was easy to
understand, and a great speed to follow along with.

1st. very good presentation I have an issue that I’m trying too figure out
and that is the printing from OneNote, back in the early days someone had
showed me how to resize the print font to a default so it would not come
out so small, and since then through all the changes since 2007 on
everything as far as software, and trying to keep up with normal every day
stuff I have completely forgot about how to go about that… Any
suggestions
