  5. use http://www.dropbox.com with creating an account which is free, you can upload upto 2.6gb which is free and any size of files. you can also share your files to other which having account in dropbox. It is permenant and free. download upload make folders everything

  6. Hi do the sensible thing and buy yourself a big drive to store them on as it will be more accessible.

  7. There are also some other variables you may want to consider i.e. do you want to access your files via phone apps etc?

Music files will take up lots of space so here is my suggestion for free cloud storage:

    – Dropbox offers the best all round experience. You can share files, access them from any device such as an iPhone, Android or Blackberry. Only problem is the free size – 2GB to start with, with the possibility of obtaining up to 8GB through recommendation of the service to others.

    – Box is also great, offering 5GB free, but there are limitations of file size (no file bigger than 25mb).

    – Sugarsync offers 5GB free and can be used with most devices.

    – Ubuntu One offers 5GB free, but can’t be used on a Mac.

    – Adrive and Windows Skydrive offer the most storage for free (50GB and 25GB respectively).

Take a look at the website below as there is a full list of all free cloud storage, with sizes and compatibility of devices.

  8. Some of the answers on here are INCORRECT.

Skydrive offers 5GBs of online storage, not 25GBs as that 25GBs is actually a TOTAL of your Live account and not just for Skydrive.

Adrive gives you 50GBs free but on a TRIAL.

DR + Mrs Bears face – and external is fine but what happens if that hard drive fails? Or gets dropped or stolen? You’ve lost all the files stored on it. Storing it online is a good way to go because you have more redundancy.

My suggestion to you is, if you really want cloud storage, then consider getting one that has a client application that automatically does the synching up to the cloud servers. That way, all you need to do is install it, tell the client what folders to monitor and once you start adding, deleting or modifying files, it will synch those changes up to the cloud storage automatically so you won’t have to worry about it. The two recommendations I can give you is CX (http://thisishelpful.com/10gbs-free-online-storage.html ) which gives you 10GBs of free online storage and Skydrive (https://skydrive.live.com/ ) which gives you 5GBs of free online synched storage.

However, you need to be careful that the files you’re uploading are NOT COPYRIGHTED files as potentially they could be in breach of copyright laws and the files could get deleted or your account suspended because of this.

What I suggest in this cause is to get yourself an external hard drive for your Music files and use the Cloud Storage for your important documents that you can’t afford to lose. So if worst case, you lose your music files, you can still redownload them again, however important documents, you would want to be backed up with online storage so there is redundancy.

Hope that helps answer your question.
