Google drive offers cloud storage, which refers to saving things on the Internet. When you put something on Google Drive, the image is saved there so you can delete the image off your hard drive without losing them.

if you have another online back up like Skydrive, i’d say ok. you never want to loose your pics so, don’t put “all your eggs in one basket”
