Cube World – How to Setup a Free Cloud Server on Windows Azure

  1. Cheers, I’ll check it out, maybe even make a tutorial on that (I think there’s a lot I can improve on from this video).

On the server side I’ve started using a modified client, which seems to run a little better and auto-restarts on crashes.

My only concern with the Amazon approach is my current server is at 100% CPU usage, 100% of the time. This I’m guessing would end up costing me a lot on AWS until they’ve optimised the server a little better.

  2. Great Tutorial, However For the one free month is a great deal, However I would Use AWS Amazon, As they have this amazing Feature Called “Spot Instance” The prices are Amazing, basically you set a price that you are willing to pay per hour. The prices goes up and down as Demand and Supply goes up and down. And if the price goes above your limit your server is turned off until the price goes down. Prices for a “small server” vs Azure is $12.24 Windows 2012 or 1.7 cents a Hour. (As of Now)

  3. A simple google search of “AVG free” took me right to it. You may want to try it next time. http://free.avg.com/us-en/download

However, AVG is not a very good product. It will bogg your machine down and steal resources. I would try something like Avira or Avast (both have advertising which is annoying), or Microsoft Security Essentials or Panda. Personally I use Panda Cloud AntiVirus

  4. Gotcha covered
    go to download.com (CNET)

    type in AVG free anti-virus.
It’s there, it’s the one you want and it’s free.

NOTE: Make sure that you have deleted any old anti-virus program before you download the AVG!!
